Today is a new day.
I will encourage my kids every chance I get. I will sing of their praise, take note of their progress, and encourage their passions.
I will redirect with kindness. I will not speak or act out of anger or frustration.
I will be patient.
I will show my children love. I will kiss them and hug them and cuddle them closely until they have had enough. And then I will love on them more. I will use actions, affirmations, and affection. I will appreciate them for who they are right now.
I will pray for them.
I will plead on my knees before our mighty God for every problem, praise Him through the thick and thin, and be prudent to the fact that I cannot do this alone. Where I am weak, He will make me strong.
I will defend my kids. The world cannot have them. I will teach them what is right, what is noble, and what is true. I will guard their hearts and their minds until they can do so themselves. I will protect them with everything I have within me. And when I fail, I will ask for forgiveness. Then I will forgive myself.
I will not compare myself to other mothers. I will not dwell on feelings of inadequacy, inefficacy, or inability.
I will make my kids a priority. I will look at them when they talk to me, listen to their sweet words, answer the same question one hundred times, and acknowledge their feelings. I will put down my phone, log out of Facebook, and live in the present.
