Recently I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. It was not really that surprising since I do suffer from fatigue and low-energy. I know that God is using this time of my life to teach me to draw near to Him. One of the first verses that I gravitated towards was Isaiah 40:30-31.
I hold onto that promise. My hope is in the Lord and my strength will be renewed. But how do we hope in the Lord? One way is to meditate on His words. I found such encouragement from these verses that I decided I had to share them. Feel free to print them out and hang them around your house as a constant reminder of the true source of strength and healing.
I choose to cultivate a joyful heart. And modern medicine even backs up this premise. When you are joyful you can’t be stressed. Less stress means less cortisol roaming around your body causing damage. A joyful heart is good medicine my friends. Lets’ think on things that bring us joy.
Where does our strength come from? It comes from the Lord. There are days I feel weak and fatigued. I try to support my body through herbs and essential oils and detox, but really, true strength comes from God. He gave us these things we use to improve our health, but I think it’s important to acknowledge where they come from!We are all fearfully and wonderfully made. Need I say more?
This verse basically says that meditating on God’s word can bring healing to our flesh. That is why I’m choosing to meditate on these verses and to immerse myself in truth.
Be blessed my friends!
