Hi there. My name is Sarah and I am the author of Simple Life, Abundant Life. My husband is a youth pastor with a Master’s degree in Divinity, and I am a special education teacher with a Master’s degree in teaching reading. I still teach (very, very part time), and am a mostly stay at home mommy to two rambunctious boys and a beautiful baby girl. Life has it’s share of joys and of heartaches. We have three babies in heaven that we can’t wait to meet someday. Our third miscarriage led to my diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis – an autoimmune disease of the thyroid. I firmly believe that this is not the end of my story, though. I serve an awesome and mighty God – Jehova Rapha – which means the Lord our healer! Until that day, however, I have to be gluten-free in order to feel my best, so most of the recipes you see on this blog will be gluten/grain-free. Also, our family has a heart for adoption, and after a break in the process due to a surprise (but very welcome) pregnancy, we plan to jump back in the process soon!
I title this blog Simple Life, Abundant Life because, as Christians, we know the Lord wants us to experience an abundant life. I feel like we often miss out on many blessings because we are so caught up on the hustle and bustle of life. You don’t have to be rich or have lots of possessions in order to experience joy. I think there are many blessings to be found in living simply. This blog will chronicle our journey in ministry, nutrition, parenthood, and simple living with many laughs along the way. I would love for you to join us, no matter where you are in this journey of life.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
